MOSFET, the robotics team representing Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI), demonstrated remarkable grit and determination at Robocon Malaysia 2025, securing victories against three teams from various institutions of higher learning.

Despite two narrow defeats that halted their advancement to the quarter-finals, MOSFET achieved solid wins over UNIMAS FK, ROBUST UPNM, and IIUM ROBOTEAM.

According to Robotique Society club supervisor, Dr. Siti Norhafiza, the team’s performance remains commendable and reflects a significant improvement compared to their previous participation.

“Following this competition, the team will continue with advanced training throughout the semester break to further strengthen their skills,” she said.

“We also plan to take part in other competitions such as UniKL Robattle, while building a stronger and more cohesive team in preparation for Robocon 2026. In addition, we will organise open workshops and recruit new members to expand the team.”

MOSFET comprises 18 students, the majority of whom are enrolled in the Mechatronics and Robotics programmes at UniKL MFI. The team consists of members from Semester 1 to Semester 6, combining both experienced and new talents.

For their Robocon Malaysia 2025 entry, the team’s robot was designed with a modular arm system, enabling it to adapt to various tasks during the competition.

The team also employed a semi-autonomous control system, allowing for precise manoeuvring within a short time frame—particularly during offensive phases and object arrangement challenges.
